I wanted to look at how LinkedIn has morphed over the years.
What started as a professional network has changed into something that, more often than not, feels far removed from its original purpose. I’ve looked at:
💼 😱 “From Network to Nightmare” or how content has supplanted connections
🤖 ☠️ “The Algo Ate My Career” or why valuable professional updates are being buried
🎭 👻 “Professional Pretenders” or the rise and rise of performative work culture on the platform
🧩 🥵 “Job Search Jungle” or why finding work has become harder as LinkedIn continues to grow.
In short, engagement for its own sake doesn’t create lasting value. It’s like a constant sugar rush, immediate spikes in activity followed by diminishing returns as YOU grow weary of inauthentic content.
What’s the strategy, LinkedIn?
